Hey guys, I have a 2009 Pontiac g5, 2.2 ecotec, 5 speed, 2 door, all stock. I've been racking my brain trying to figure this out and my research hasn't really led me anywhere useful. From what I've been able to figure out there is a parasitic drain coming from my BCM, but it's erratic. Here's what I've done this far. (also note I bought this car used WITH the drain)

Replaced driver side power lock switch, was broken.
Replaced driver side door speaker, which was blown
Removed trunk bulb, because the battery is in the trunk so it's on while measuring amps.
Removed fuses one by one from passenger side, which didn't stop the draw.
Removed BCM 2 fuse ( which stopped the draw).

Here's the interesting part, from what I can tell when I'm measuring the amperage it's about 150 ma draw. High but not high enough to kill the battery overnight which has happened twice now. What happens when I measure the amperage is it jumps up to about 2.5 amps initially and then after about 15 seconds settles at 150 ma. I measured for about 15 minutes to see if it would eventually drop to zero and it did not. My thoughts are that the BCM isn't turning something off when I turn the car off, but because I'm disconnecting the battery to measure the amps I feel like this is fully disconnecting the BCM and therefor I'm not able to measure properly. I guess a follow up question to not being able to solve my problem is, is there an inline amp display that I can put inline with my battery so I can see the amperage while the car is off, without having to first disconnect the battery. I could be completely wrong in my thought process but that's all I've been able to conclude from my tests.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

The only way you can measure DC current is with an in-line meter. So you have to disconnect the feed of where you want to measure. Did you try unplugging the cluster? Which of the 3 BCM fuses stops the drain? Does it have the original radio?

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if there was a type of inline DC amp display that could handle the amperage of the car running, but I haven't been able to find one. I unplugged everything, even the BCM itself. and it was BCM2 that stopped the drain. Yes it has the original radio and Onstar, but I removed the fuse permanently for onstar.

Next time check your cluster needles to see if they twitch 20-30 seconds after you open the driver's door with key out.
