I have a 2005 Cobalt. It’s my work car. I went to leave the house yesterday morning and it gave me the “Engine Power Reduced” banner across the dash. It will start, and run, but, dies when put in gear. I called a buddy, who suggested unhooking the battery, and letting the cables touch for a while. So, i did. They sat touching all day while I went to work. Came home, hooked it back up, started right up and ran with no issues. Drove it 30ish miles with no problems. When I got home, I even let it idle for an hour to see if it would do it again. No issues whatsoever. Woke up for work the next day, went to start it up, and right back to square one. “Engine power reduced”. Once again, i unhooked the battery cables and went to work. When I got home, i hooked the battery back up, and it started and ran just fine. Took it to Autozone to have the codes read, and the only code that popped was a Program PCM code. What is going on, and what do I do?
