so i have a 2008 cobalt 2LT completely stock and no mods at all...im looking for the fog light wires...which i wasnt successful...so i took the DS headlight out completely and located the bracket and took that out as well and i found this weird thing in the bracket for the headlight...heres a pic

it was a two wire set up

and it was mounted in the smaller hole under my thumb in this pic

so my questions are...

what is this?
where are the fog light wires, if in the coblat LT anyway?
is it attached to the wiring harness for headlights in a specific area?

thanks guys

That is your ambient Air temperature sensor, the one that gives you the outside temperature reading with your digital odometer.

To find out if you have the harness for fog lights you have to remove the little dash panel with cluster light dimmer to the left of the steering column. If you have a connector there all taped up you have the harness.

And if you have the harness then you should look for this connector and wire colors somewhere behind the bumper where the horns are.

That is the dusk to dawn sensor that turns your lights on automatically. How could it measure outside temperature from inside the car???

Apparently it is taped to the horn wires behind the bumper. Like the diagram I posted shows it is a two wire connector (purple and black)

Well it should but make sure you find that connector before buying all the lights, bezels, switch and new dash panel.

That don't mean zilch, I have intercooler relay and my car is NA and a fuse for heated seats but no such luck this morning at -11°F.

Hey coby.....rather sad news to report, I have no wires for the fogs around the horn. Can I buy a aftermarket fog harness that ties into my harness now, get the whole new harness or splice it in to what I have now? Which is better to do?

We sell a PnP kit that plugs into your fuse box so no switch is needed. Unless you have a bumper with foglights already, you will need to purchase a bumper that requires them (SS or upgraded base model) you cannot just use the inserts are the foglights mount to the bumper not the inserts.

There is an other guy on here doing the same, since I can't look at your car from here. Try finding his thread or if I come across it I'll post it here.

But pretty sure if you have the wires in the dash like you do you should have the rest by the bumper somewhere.
