Okay... been stroking this car's accelerator something fierce lately trying to come up with something even CLOSE to willmpg's numbers. Topped her off today and headed for class... put on 70 miles round trip exactly, the dis showed 386 miles estimated for this fill-up. My original post I was complaining about it reading 326 after a fill up... so, anyways I traveled 70 miles tonight and then I filled her back up upon my return.

HOLY F**K!!! I used all of 1.43 gal. for the trip... that works out to 48.95 mpgs!!! The dis showed my average at 38.7 for that trip. The estimate on the mileage left in that tank before I filled her back up upon my return was 428 (up from 386 before I left for school) and after I filled her up after school tonight the dis was reading that I had 454 estimated miles for the tank of fuel!!!

WILL... Thanks for the tips man!!! I am a solid believer now!!! I am still not giving in until I can post numbers like yours!!!

There is nothing like driving 70 miles and the gas gauge needle is still pegged at full... well, you motor heads might not think so but I usually put on 20 -30,000 miles a year on my ride just for work... a fuel savings like this can buy accesories for the car like new projectors and LED tailights!

Hell of a job man. Glad to hear it. Yeah I commute a little over 30K a year in mine. The savings add up quick, and translate into a lot of money for other things.

Again, most excellent results, and keep it up.

I really wish i didnt drive my car as hard as i do sometimes. It is hard for me to even see 300 miles for a tank of gas. Only time i get good gas milage is when i take long road trips.

damn turbo.....i am always having fun with her

PsychoCam... I used to drive just like you!!! No more though! I can make Will's advice work for me and I am finding that I am not compromising anything more serious than 5 - 10 minutes of drive time for my trips to school. I can spare that!

Great numbers worspan!

I too run 20,000+ miles a year.

I have averaged just over 48 mpg for 2010 and so far it's saved me over $525 in comparison to what the EPA estimates I should get.

My 2010 Average tank distance is 496.41 miles with using an average of 10.24 gallons per tank so 500+ miles on a tank is easy.
I could probably get 600 miles on a tank but I don't want to run the car dry and kill the fuel pump.

Keep it up worspan, Will and I could use some competition. ;)

The hell with MPG and all the numbers. I drive it like I stole it and my gas shows it. lmao I could not drive below 10 over the speed limit if I tried. Damn led foot.

Good job for you though and for everyone else that cares. Get your foot of the brake. lol

Yeah... Thanks for that extreme insight. I am sure your engine thanks for for driving like you stole it too... :toung: BTW, using your brake anymore than necessary is bad for mpg.
