I Have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS and i have a few questions.
1) if i upgrade my radio, do i need the Interface that has the Chimes or does it go thru the Cluster

2) When I upgrade, does my Pionner System still Work? Including the 10' stock sub? or do i loose that Function

3) Do i loose my DIC. Everywhere say's I Will.

Id keep my Stock Radio, but having to Burn CD's is really getting old. Id love to have an AUX Port...

Thanks!

1) No, if you purchase the correct interface kit & module.
2) If wired properly, don't see why not.
3) No, see Q1 response.

Go to Crutchfield.com and call/chat with their experts...they'll get you everything required to make the audio swap painless. Been using them since the 80's...great bunch!

Not to revive this from the dead.
I ended up going thru with the install.

Here's what I found.
1) in 2005/06 no need for the chime interface as everything is done thru the cluster.
2) pionner sub and speakers work great (better with aftermarket duh) and doesn't require any additional wiring.
3) you will not loose dic unless its thru your radio
4) a wire running to your fuse box on the side of the console is required* to let your radio know when to turn on (just like a "rem wire")
* can be bypassed if you don't wanna splice into your harness or mess around with wires

Thanks to iceman62 for providing me with help.
I didn't even read it until today. Too busy at work. Just trial and error.

Thanks everyone!

No problemo...glad to see your project worked as planned. Newer car wiring can sometimes be tricky (with added electronics/computer interface), but mostly it still flows similar to my "late-70's/early 80's" days of wiring stereos. Now I just have to read instructions and schematics a few more times to get the jist...;)
