Hi, I'm a new owner of a 2006 Cobalt LS, bought it used. Unfortunately I was not able to get any service records with the vehicle.

I saw some recall information related to the electric power steering and ignition switch. If I call a dealer and give them my VIN, will they be able to tell if the recall repairs have been completed? Or should I call Chevrolet?

I know the car is 9 years old, Chevy will still repair the recalls on a car this old free of charge at a dealership?

Thanks in advance.

You can go here to check if your recalls were completed. All recalls are done for free. If people had to pay for recalls to be done then no one would do it.
