OK, now I have another problem (2010 cobalt)- when Im driving say, 5-10 mph along a narrow winding driveway, slightly turning left/right, I hear a ticking/grinding/scraping sound in steering column, kinda near where the signal switch is located.

Also, to me has to be related, whenever I signal to left, and turn, then straighten the wheel, the signal switch/lever does not revert (click) back to neutral position, but lever stays in place. Any idea whats going on and if this is typical cobalt problem?

Thnanks

That's what it's sounding like, try tearing it apart like he did in that thread and see if you can fix it. If you cant, then you would have needed to buy a new one anyways so no harm done
