I have a 2009 Cobalt LT Does anyone have any info on tightening the retractor spring on the drivers seat belt. It will work but I have to "help" it back up when I get out of the car. Thanks

It is probably full of hairs and dirt. Mine was, I took it apart and cleaned as best I could and got it to work fairly well. This was my 08, previous owner had a long haired dog and a long haired girl friend.

Seat Belt

Sorry for such a long delay for a response but it wasn't just dirt. If I remove the seat belt retractor and send it out for a rebuild can the car be operated or will it detect the missing belt and set some code?

When the belt is reconnected will it reset or will I have to go to a dealer to clear it?
Thanks for the info
