anyone have any prob with the seatbelt buckel locking up and not releasing. not to often i have a passenger... just scares me to think it could happen in an emergency. any ideas?

Well seatbelts are supposed to lock up in an emergency to stop the passenger's head (or anyone in your car wearing a seatbelt for that matter) from slamming into whatever is in front of them.

To answer your question, I had the same thing happen to my passenger seatbelt, and I found out that it is the plastic side pannelling that was catching the seatbelt and locking it up both detracting and retracting. The panelling was lose. On the very top of the B-Pillar, there is a screw (believe it was 7mm) that is used to hold the panelling up. I tightened that screw up and that allowed the seatbelt to move freely again.

Your problem may be different, but that is what happened with mine.
