It’s quite possible you have disturbed the wiring for the air bag. Also could have disturbed the wiring for the clock spring.

I have seen the wiring on and around the steering column have a problem where the wire will unseat in the plastic connector. Even when the said connector is fully seated or plugged in, it’ll be the wire that is out a bit from where it’s supposed to sit in the connector and lose connection. In some instances you may be able to push the wires back forward into the connector with a pick or small flat blade screw driver.

It is also possible the clock spring has broken. It is fragile. Although there should have been no reason to remove the steering wheel or clock spring when replacing the multifunction switch, or turn signal switch.
