so its that time of year again [ winter] and my car is doing same thing again, service traction, service e.s.c. , reduced engine power and engine wants to stall, it shakes etc.managed to get appointment at dealership and they actually diagnoste for free ! well i think because i told him chk engine light was on when i made appointment, but since has gone off.still free from the dealership!? my lucky day i guess.he read codes dont recall o221?,and 0223 perhapes ,anyways told me it was two throttle sensors built into throttle body.which he said you have to replace whole throttle body as sensors are un serviceable! told me part was around 300 $ but when asked how many hours looked under my hood, noticed my car is turbo and seemed to get lost and couldnt tell me how long to replace?! so... anyone else have this issue? how long does it take to replace throttle body,? and any other related info or experiences would be appreciated! thnx!

Water or moisture must be getting inside the sensor where the contact wipes the resistors. When it freezes it lifts the contact away and cause the sensor 1 sensor 2 discrepency code. If one sensor is more than 6% off of the second sensor your Cobalt will go into limp mode so it doesn't accidently fall into full throttle like the Toyotas did a few years back.

When the engine is fully warmed up and you shut it off and restart does it still go into limp mode?

Cleaning it may help. Go to rock auto to see how much it costs there. The reason it's a little more difficult is because your throttle body is upside down compared to all ours where its easily accessible from the top. Still not hard though. Do it yourself
