I wish. That thing is A) too conservative and B) distracting.

My life would be better with it gone.

It seems like a good idea to me. I mean, when the light comes on its not telling you "hey shift now or im shutting this thing down". Pay attention while cruising, ignore while at WOT. Seems easy enough for me.

It does not come on the SS/SC. It wouldn't do much good anyway, because of the clutch in the SS/SC you have to shit after 3k anyway so you don't glaze it so you are already past the peak gas milage RPM.

If you want one you can get an interceptor and it has a programmable light. You could set it for what ever RPM you want.

I hated my light at first and was onna black it out or put eletrical tape over it under the glass but now i am just used to it and when you get on the car up towards the 6,000k mark it comes back on letting you know that your really up there

hahahaha....best typo ever. can't believe nobody caught that.

i don't really pay attention to it or the RPMs if i'm cruising. too used to listening to the engine and hearing when it's time to shift. used to drive my dad's 88 VW Fox. thing was a POS. had to have 3 different keys. one to turn the car on and open the trunk, one for the driver's side door, and one for the passenger's side door. anyway, it didn't have an RPM gauge, so you just listen to the motor and shift accordingly.

Same story here. Old school 82 civics FTW! I'm so used to listening to the engine sometimes I forget to turn on the subwoofers...

The shift light does adjust to WOT though, I still think it goes off a little early at that point though, I imagine it goes off way early if you have an aftermarket intake of sorts...

I think it's funny. The guys that have it don't want it and vice versa. I wish mine was gone, I've only owned and been driving manual transmissions since I was 16 (I'm 23 now) and don't need a light to tell me when to shift.....whether it be for best fuel economy or for racing.
