I received this advice which might be helpful. My biggest concern was if the steering wheel would have to be removed and good news it doesn't. I ordered the switch and it will take a few weeks so I have not tried this yet. If anyone gets a chance to try this please post with what you find. Just to be safe, always disconnect the battery and allow 40 minutes to discharge before servicing.
You do not pull the wheel, do this.
1)Remove the instrument panel cluster trim plate bezel.
2)Remove the lower steering column trim cover bolts and remove the upper steering column trim cover.
3)Disconnect the turn signal multifunction switch electrical connectors.
4)Position the left lower steering column trim cover out of the way,
5)Depress the switch locking tabs and remove the turn signal multifunction switch.
