Hey guys, So I was on here a little bit here and there.
Did the retrofit and thats pretty much it.

But we bought my wife an 08 Nissan Pathfinder and then I sold
my Ford Explorer so her 08 Cobalt SE became my main mode of transportation.

I still have a 92 bmw 325i I tinker with but might sell it too.
So with this new change of plans you'll probably see a lot more of me
here soon.

I have a few plans for it since I'll be driving it now and we'll try to
keep the miles off of the pathfinder. Both Cobalt and Pathfinder are 2008's with 145,000 miles. Crazyness... My ford explorer was an 02 with 102,000 miles... lol

So, Plans I have now that it's not my wifes?

Another Retrofit... Since I sold hers thinking we were selling the cobalt...
Replace the factory Audio unit with probably what I installed in the Explorer.
A Jensen VX7020. Back Up Camera, HardWired Dash Cam and Hardwired Escort Redline RD and a Small 10" Sub and amp since it's sitting in my house collecting dust...

Details
2008 Chevy Cobalt, SE ( Special Edition ) Which I'm told is just an lt?
Bought brand new with 8 miles in Nov. of 2007... It now has 145k miles.
Mods: 18% Tint
That's all... But not for long since it's mine now. lol

This is a really shitty cell phone picture...

Here is a better one, But when it had stock wheels and no Tint....
Aside from the wheels/tint same car.

Now it has regular oem style headlights I bought from ebay.

But that should change soon if I have anything to do with it

That sucks, Hopefully its just the front lens.

Also, yes the stripes came like that.
Thinking about getting some black vynal to go over it so the car isn't so noticeable.

Its not just the lens. the whole headlight assembly is broken. Got to buy another headlight and try to rebuild it. Speaking of which what sealant did you use for the lenses so I can pick some up.

I used butyl from TRS, They sell a package for $15 IIRC.

I haven't decided if Im going to keep it, or try and sell it for something else.
I really want a manual car. I'd love to have another E39 6 Speed V8 BMW...

But, If I keep it yeah.

-FXR 3.0 Bi-Xenon Retrofit
-SwitchBack LED DRL Strip in the headlight (I think. Haven't decided)
-F5 Fast Bright 55W Ballast
-CNLight 5000k D2S bulbs

-7" Touch Screen Multi Media Unit, Nav, Back Up Camera, CD, DVD, USB, Aux, Pandora App.
-10" Sub/Sealed Slim Box with small amp just for Something that fills the car
Possible a Slim LED Bar just under the front emblem in the grill sorta. Not sure yet.
-Led Tails
-Lowering Spring Maybe...

I really don't think I'll do anything more than that.

Well..... That didn't take a week.

Met with a buyer tonight and Thursday he's picking it up.
Sorry guys. Just so much else for roughly the same ball park that is nicer and more fun
to drive.

Audi S4 ( Twin Turbo V6 5speed, Or V8 and 6 speed.)
BMW 540i, V8 300hp and 6 speed.
Acura TL or TSX for nicer sedan style
Plenty of other options.

Was offered $5,000 for the cobalt.

I hope you like paying through your nose in maintenance bills because you'll be seeing a lot of those with the Audi or Bimmer. A coworker of mine had an '01 S4 (2.7 TT), it ruined him financially and got his license revoked. He sold it after dumping big money into mods and replaced it with a thousand dollar Protege5.

The Acura is pretty sensible though. I've driven a manual '09 TSX and it was quite nice. Styling is a little hit or miss but it had a nice interior and a fair bit of pep from the K24. The TL TypeS is a gorgeous machine, and the '10-'14 SH-AWD offered a 3.7 V6 and a six speed gearbox. If you can get over the look of the thing and the ~20k price tag, snap one up now.

lol....

Ive owned two Audi's. A 98 A4 that was great for like 60k miles.
A 2006 A6 S line that I bought with 92k and sold with 160k over 3 years and no problems.

I miss her...

I even tracked her!

A couple bmw's the same way. Maintenance isn't any more if you work on them your self.
Here is a video of the first time I worked on a BMW. Shop wanted $2,600 for the repair
and I did it all myself with oem parts for $300...
Ignore the music, I thought it was cool back then.

The Audi didn't get his license revoked, his driving did.
And did he need to dump all that money into mods...
I agree they are more pricey but not like how people talk. And Ive owned them.

Yeah I like the TL type S. But I'll probably just pick up an 04-06 TL or TSX and
cruise and be happy debt free and comfortable.
Hell... Even if it blew up a used motor is 600 shipped. Tons on ebay. Stupid cheap.

heres an 04 tsx with 146k miles for 6500. Bet hed take less. Just an example, i dont want this one.

Truelly probably what I'll get, an older tl or tsx since I'll be paying cash.
Now from a speed standpoint eh, they aren't fast. Hell.. they only have like 200hp.
But I'm not looking for speed really.

Also, I'm 6'5" and 225lbs so having a slightly larger and more
comfortable car will be better anyway.

Well then, if you're turning your own wrench then all is fair game (with the possible exception of exotics and limited production models). The TSX may not be a rocket, but it must share a big aftermarket with Honda products powered by the same engine. Might be a good sleeper if you're willing to build it up some.

P.S. I'm not a Honda/Acura fanboy, I just think they have decent products for reasonable dollars, at least in the used car section.
