Hello, I am having an issue with my speedometer lights. I dont know much about cars but i have pictures. This is my first car. I can see the milage but speedometer doesnt light up. Radio lights work too. Gear shift doesnt light up either.

I posted a 2nd picture with a button of sorts, what is that for? Is that for the dashboard lights? Ive spun it around a bunch and it has done nothing.

I don't know about the major issue with the lights but that knob is supposed to be the dashboard light brightness adjustment. We had to replace ours when we first purchased our Cobalt about 2 years ago. We bought it from Amazon and it was around $20. It plugs into wiring behind the dash. Here's the link to the knob and there are pictures of the plug (be sure the previous owner hasn't yanked the wiring out). I don't know if this one is a fit for your car so be sure to check that but it'll help: AmazonSmile: GM Genuine Parts D1533H Instrument Panel Dimmer Switch : Automotive I don't know how anyone tears up a dimmer switch but in our case it was a warning of other things the previous owner had screwed up and torn up.
update: i fixed the issue, it was a blown park lamp fuse

Nice - glad to hear a "got it fixed" story!
Any chance you looked and found the schematic
