So ever since I got the power steering recall on my car my steering wheel felt a little loose at the beginning but I was just like whatever but recently when it was really cold out my steering wheel would make a light squeeking noise whenever I turned the wheel and now its progressed to making the noise all the time? What could be the cause and also how long does GM cover work they have done?

Dustinb855,

You should certainly have your Chevrolet dealership look into this again. If you would like for me to reach out to them on your behalf please private message me. Typically the parts warranty is which ever comes first, 12 months or 12,000 miles.

This was not cause by GM techs. If you look at where the column intermediate shaft goes through the firewall you will notice a rubber boot. The shaft spins freely in this boot, which comes lubricated from the factory. Just add and work in some white lithium grease near the friction point and your squeak will go away. Did it to mine 2½ years ago and it solved our squeal for good so far. That was annoying as hell.
