Hey guys. I'm trying to find the source of a squeaking sound coming from the rear passenger side of my car. The sound is sporadic, but is more frequent when turning right. I did find something around the spring that looks like it broke off, some sort of seal or something. I took 2 pictures of it, one as it appeared looking under the car, and another one of the piece after I ripped it off by hand. Could this be what's causing the squeaking sound?

That's the top spring cushion and not the cause of the squeaky sound. Usually the squeaky sound comes from the lower coils being rusted. Apply grease on the rust and if it stops the squeak foe a while then change the springs.

My rear springs were broken at the bottom too. I replaced them with Moog CC81065 springs. So far, so good. Don't worry about replacing that cushion when you do replace the springs.
