Hey guys I have a 2010 Chevy cobalt 2.2 LT that I've been trying to sell and now 2 buyers have walked away because of this noise in the wheel, maybe they think the car is just going to fall apart not sure, anyways I'l include a YouTube video link of the noise hopefully somebody can tell me what the cause is. Thanks!

My guess is the power steering motor. How much are you asking for your Cobalt? Looks like an LT. With an automatic. Do
I see a TX reg sticker in the window?

In Texas eh? I’m down in Corpus.

As for the noise, a little hard to say. It could very well be the dreaded power steering motor or the gear inside.

Also sounds a little like when the clock spring is rubbing and makes a similar noise. Usually only happens after someone has removed the steering when and screwed up putting things back.

Also the black shroud around the column behind the steering wheel can be installed incorrectly and rub the steering wheel. Have seen this when someone has replaced the multifunction switch/headlight/turn signal.

Hopefully it would be one of the easy cheaper fixes.
