My car is really just a hobby for me. It’s NOT a show car by any means. When I came to this forum I barely knew how to change the oil in this car. Now I can say I’ve done an intake, cat-back, underglow, subwoofer, armrest, door panel re-cover…all on my own, and it will continue. I really enjoy putting work into the car and learning new things as challenges arise. Most of the work done is just for fun, like interior or painting. Any performance gains are a plus, but not expected (mpg gains are nice too).

Comments are welcome, and I know my car is NOT top notch so there’s no need to attack me, but I am open to critique…Thanks!

all updated photography is added to this post for easy following.

Any interior painting suggestions? I know I'm kind of overdoing the yellow/black but I really want to do my door panels and such in black with yellow highlights, but I'm thinking that may be a bit much.

Interior:
Door panel recover
doors painted black, passenger seating now also black.
Color Match seat covers
Yellow pedal covers
Armrest install
painted glove box and trim under steering wheel

Performance:
K&N SRI painted yellow
Tsudo N-1 cat-back

Other:
2x 10" subs in a ported box (wish I went with 2 x12"s though or just better speakers)
LED glow 7 color underglow kit
35% tint all around
14" antenna
Black side racing stripes
jedi order insignia painted on engine cover.
yellow painted engine fuse cover.
partial de-badge
painted front bowtie

The only thing that I think I'll be able to afford at some point soon is I want to replace my door panels. My paint job sucks, and the paint doesn't seem to hold up long enough to stay looking good. I may re-do it again before dropping the cash, but...yea money's tight at the moment, so performance mods are on hold.

On my to-do list at some point:
rk sport hood and painted
header/dp
tune
wheels
lowering

^^My wife, not me...just to weed out some possible awkward replies. lol

doors done (except passenger side needing new yellow upholstery)

debadge and painted trunk lock

..Star Wars FTMFW! lol

looks good. i like the suede door lining.
Thanks! its gonna be a pain to keep clean, but I bought like 4x the material needed in case I ever have to do a re-cover.

Engine bay project 75% complete.
Photoshopped concept:

Current progress:

I'm not the best with a can of spray paint so there are a few flaws here, but this piece was extremely difficult to do because of its odd shape.

Stencil cut from masking tape (I ran out of blue tape halfway through).

I'm not yet at the point where I feel comfortable taking my valve cover off yet, but it also is on my to-do list.

bump for completed engine cover.

laying the stencil was a PITA!! the bottom turned out kind of egg shaped, but I'll be able to fix/touch-up that after I let what is done cure for about a week. Then I'll go over it and try to make it blend better.

the fuzzy spray lines don't bother me and give it some character, but opinions welcome. Thanks!

Thanks! I couldn't really think of any other way to do it. I have a friend who is really good with airbrush and he was going to help but he kept putting it off, so I just figured I'd do it the best I could on my own. no one's really gonna see it but me anyhow.

because of the size/detail doors are gonna be last, but yea, doors are on the list. I'm probably gonna leave the dash trim stock at the moment (might be too much yellow), but we'll see.

lesson learned today:

do not use clear coat with a stencil.

---------- Post added at 01:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:07 AM ----------

Anyone think if I give it a few days would I be able to wetsand without much issue? Peeling up the stencil messed/peeled up part of the clear coat so I will need to sand it smooth, but I'm not sure how to go about it.

Also, should I do the A pillars in black as well. I was thinking to leave 'em gray, but I've not quite decided.
