I have a 2010 cobalt LT sedan. Wanna either supercharge it or turbo it. Which would be to do. Wat would I need to do so far as internals. I heard the lap engines have weak internals. All opinions are welcomed.
Personal choice here would be to turbocharge. Using the waste heat from the engine to compress the air charge into the cylinders. A supercharger does the exact same thing, but draws power from the engine’s crank shaft to compress the charge of air.
So for a given engine power output measured at the transmission’s input shaft, the supercharged engine must create more total power. The power to the transmission plus the power to the supercharger.
The turbocharger is driven only by the heat the engine is stuffing into the exhaust system.
