my daughters 06 just started acting up with the usual problems..No speedo, check engine light,TC light, not shifting..
I tried the ground from TCM to body method with no results.I unplugged TCM and the 2 other plugs below and blew out with electronic air cleaner..I've checked the TCM fuse that's located in fuse box inside by passenger side. What other fuses do I need to check and where would they be located?
I've read every post I can find, but the pics aren't loading.
Thanks in advance

Did you try re-seating the 2 blue/gray connectors on the BCM?

PCM/TCM fuse is the upper left corner of the BCM fuse block.

And you can thank photobucket for screwing up all the images on this forum.

thanks for replies..
I've double checked all fuses, reseated all plugs and still get TC light and no speedo.
I left the battery unhooked since last night and will recheck this evening..
Does this sound like TCM module?Would it be safe to buy one on the bay that says they program(you supply ViN and #s that are on current one)
Thanks again

Don't believe it's your TCM, but after re-reading, have you checked the connection to the VSS ( Vehicle Speed Sensor ) on the tail end of the transmission? This would give you your exact symptoms or a bad sensor.

U0101 is a communication code but I don't believe 101 is a valid GM code. Let me check the GM server.

Well okay I'm wrong! it's a valid code for 05-06.

• DTC U0101 Lost Communication With Transmission Control Module (TCM)

You may want to look at frayed wires before you decide to change the TCM.

^What Coby Said^ Check for the connection in the VSS as a possibility. My son's Cavalier had the problem you describe. Turns out the wire for the VSS was cut. He soldered it back together. Good to go.
