In the morning on the way to work, I'm getting the Temp "---" on the display, but NO CODE.
When I leave work in the afternoon, it shows the temp as normal.

What can cause this?

your temp sensor is behind the drivers side headlight, if you pulled it out lately it might have come unplugged partially, you might need to just reconnect it. that or it has rattled loose somehow, but i doubt that it has.

That's the ambient temperature sensor I'm assuming he meant coolant.
Thermostat or temp sensor or temp sensor connection would be where to start.

Yeah, I meant coolant, sorry. I'll check the temp sensor connection.
It's just every time it does this it's the dang thermostat. I'm tired of replacing them, lol. I put one in it every 6-months or so....

All I want to know is why are these cars so sensitive to non-oem parts haha, any other vehicle I have ever owned or worked on for my parents always just got the cheapest one and was good to go for years

engine coolant sensor location 2.0 T/C

Can any one tell me the location of the ECT sensor on a 2010 cobalt SS/TC LNF Motor. I have looked and only seem to find the location for 2.2L and 2.4L but not the 2.0L. Thanks
