Hello:

I have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt.

About 2 months ago my ignition cylinder was replaced at the dealership because the old one was damaged.

They told me they had to reprogram a new key because of this.

Unfortunately I have always carried both the old and new keys on my key ring and every time I start the car I use either one which starts the car normally (which I'm surprised as I thought that the old key won't start the car anymore).

Yesterday when I got out of the car and press the keyfob lock button twice as I always do (to arm the system) the deterrent light does not turns off and flashes at a rate of 3 seconds.

In order to turn it off I have to manually lock the doors with the key.\

I really don't remember if that light is supposed to be turned off completely after I get out of the car and press the keyfob lock key twice.

Anyone knows what may be going on and if there's a solution?

Thanks
