I have a 2007 Cobalt with 155,000 miles. The CEL came on and when I had the codes checked at AutoZone it comes back as Throttle Position Sensor problem. Can I change just the sensor or do I need to change the whole throttle body?

If I had all the specialty tools needed to change just the sensors, I would still buy a complete throttle body. Have you read the replacement procedure to replace the sensors. It's rediculous. Believe me if you don't have the jig to do this and the computer to calibrate it after replacement do not attempt to change just the sensors.

I know you've got the TPS code...but have you attempted cleaning the plug/pins and the TB itself...most of the time that's either free or whatever a can of cleaner costs and a towel you don't care about.

Yes, when I had Autozone do a code scan, it came back with a code. I believe it was P0121. I'll try checking and cleaning the connections. Would they come loose or get dirty if they have never been worked on before?
