I found some 205-70-15 winter tires for sale (brand new for $200) are they to big for the 08 balt ?? I run 195-60-15, thanks Scotty

That's 8.6% difference, it's quite a bit and might rub. It will also bog down your cars power by a lot. Best thing to do is to try one on the front. when your speedometer will read 50 mph you will actually be going 54.3 so you will also have to watch for speeding tickets.

Did this exact thing on a Nissan altima. Not a great idea on my part but did fit.

My Ford Fusion had winter tires that were only 2% over. In pure snow it was fine. Slush and ice which is most winter driving, it was terrifying to drive. I wouldn't let my wife drive it. Bought the same brand proper size and it was great.

Yeah, the best thing would be to match tire size. If you're off by just a little bit, like going from 195/60R15 to 215/55R15, then it's not a big deal at all. However, the difference between 195/60R15 and 205/70R15 is pretty significant.
