The install went smooth as a baby's bottom. Biggest issue was getting the console out (that damned armrest. If there's one thing on this car I hate, it's that armrest).
A lot of folks on other forums really hate on the TWM, but the shifts are smooth, quiet, and short. Really short, just how I like it. Better than the shifter on my old Rabbit GTi, and that car had a solid linkage that I rebuilt myself.
The OE shifter clunks through the gears but the TWM makes no sound at all. The effort is lighter, too.
Two notes: Despite what I've read here and on other forums, the (ugly) OE shift knob came off easy as pie. Just release the clip and you're there.
And, anyone else wants to try this at home, make sure the cables are securely clipped into the shift box when you put it all back together.

Too bad I had to put the ratty OE shift boot back in place. Any of y'all know where I can find a good replacement?
