I have a 2010 cobalt lt (or so registration says) got it last spring… so I had a issues when drove through a puddle it bog like engine power was reduced and I’d have to fight with it working petal to take off again properly… but once summer came It never happened and I cleaned the tps and intake up …then fall i “lost” cylinder #3 so I put a salvage motor in and replaced basically every sensor and car has been running amazing… till today , with the melting I had no choice to go through this small puddle and it’s doing it again 🤬🤬 and I replaced the broken wires in harness end to end and have no splices of any bad or rough ones when I did engine … im at a loss anyone else have this issue at times ?? Iv cleared codes and know what ones I have and why but nothing to explain why this happens and all sensors are clean and test fine and plugs on harness when I test them

Search the forum for ground location images. Another thing to check is the air box inlet. Check your air filter for water. Do you know if your air filter is wet with water when the engine Boggs down?

I have and fixed all and added extra ones to limit path to shortest route … iv ran the basis for it up to a more advanced level then your back yard mechanic as I am a heavy equipment operator who also does survey, engineering, and the automation of the equipment… I also repair and do maintenance work on them from minor to major repairs… I also know several gm dealer owners and mechanics and were all stumped on this issue haha… am very appreciative of all the feedback I’ll probably double check them again and currently trying get the software to run my tablet in place of the systems to attempt to narrow it further

So it's a matter of waterproofing?

No but the moisture seems to bring it out… like steam off the engine getting in somewhere or screwing with a connection.. iv made sure to my plugs are sealed and di-electric grease filled to ensure they have good connections ( a heavy equipment solution for dust and moisture)) use nothing but heat shrink couplers when I don’t replace entire wire… no cracks in any housings or sensors visible that can cause that result or isn’t possible to have one … there are two exact ones to it that are Daily driven and owned by same gm mechanic and there’s no part he hasn’t changed on them… it’s like condensation gets into tps or maf or something like spark is retarded as if limp mode but isn’t, that so it just bogs , pops , occasionally stalls at a idle … but a couple slams of gas or clutch it to 2-3 and it’s fine again … iv bypassed ones I can and no change or replace them with ones from working car and still does … wiring has been swapped or replaced aswell in hope but no avail … iv traced every wire down even made sure correct voltage and ohms at right pins … i have no intake leaks and have great fuel pressure… spark adv is about perfect for the setup around 7* … i ensured to route harnesses in way they avoid heat or possible damage from debris or damage from “ground contact” to be safe … i don’t drive it down gravel unless necessary and then I barely do 70 kmh usually as it’s a lt but has the ss package like body, rims , exhaust but isn’t one …I can clearly tell some replaced body parts (hood , bumper from a lt) but has no history reported and I cannot confirm ownership past previous owner (my father who got it at a auto auction, or so im told) … I even got a parts car to do engine off vins and motors didn’t match so I had order a different one which now has been in sept 2022 and can’t be it… body was 220-230km and motor had 140 only… im at a loss besides going to custom electronics… miss my 96 k/v 1500 at times like this
