Which is easier and comes out looking nicer for tail lights?
With the nite shades, it comes out looking duller i think.
But i hear the vinyl is harder to put on.
What do you think?

I imagine nightshades being easier... but the vinyl can be taken off if it comes right down to it...

I've done both (not on a cobalt, but same issues)
vinyl is a pain to keep wrinkles out, it can be done, its just hard...

i personally used paint, but didnt do the whole taillight (i have a coupe, idk what u have)

I thought u were new, u should do a intro in the new member thread ;) post some pix & stuff!
Welcome 2 the site btw & thanks!!!

Well, I like the dull look... to an extent... idk about nightshades, i guess you could use a clearcoat or even wet sand it to get them glossy, that's what i do w/ the paint, just wet sand it & clear it & its pretty glossy... most of the ppl on here use nightshades so they might b able to answer that better than me.....just no1 is online right now, i'm usually here all the time, HAHAHA (i get distracted too easily @ work, lol)

haha Yeah, i understand bout the site being confuzing @ first, i noticed that you put "..."s in the shoutbox, no1 ever talks on that... sometimes I can find ppl who will talk 2 me on it...:D (i'm a biiig chatter, lol if u havent noticed)

well, what color is ur cobalt since u dont have pix yet? I'm excited to see it, i love the cars! congrats on the new balt btw! :)

Oh yeah, i know, glossy is better! Wet sand, well after you paint them, let them dry, soak them down w/ water & take some wet fine sand paper to them & just sand them... but not too much, then put another coat or just go ahead & clear them, ive been doing this painting/moddin thing for years & that's just how we've always done it... lol
Yeah, there are some pretty nice lookin cars on here, this site is awesome!

what other mods do u have planned?

Go with VHT Nightshades and use clear coat, you will love it. Very easy to take off too if u need to. :)

ha i didnt know how that thing work so i was just testing it out :)
and my cobalt is a greenish blue metallic.
im not sure of the actual name, but the name really doesnt describe it at all lol.
ill go home and take pics today :D

and how does getting it wet and sanding them make them more glossy?
but i guess im going with the nite shades since ive heard better things about it.

and i wanna get a deck, some rims, paint the chevy logo on the front to a black (?), debadge it, and then some more interior work. im looking into things to do to the engine but for now i wanna make it look nice on the outside.
the chevy dealership gave me free tint so i can check that off my list :)

i like the name of your cobalt, it made me laugh once i got it :)

blue slate metallic? i like that color (if im thinkin of the right one, lol)

I have no idea how wet sanding does it, but it does... lol

yeah yeah, gCobalt05 is always saying to use search, which search is a good thing, but since ur new, i dont mind to answer questions... lol

but anywho, sounds like u got a good list started up so far... most of us have done that stuff or are in the process of doin that, so there are alot of threads on here about that as well-so good luck! :) (but if you cant find anything feel free to ask)

HAHA yeah, i thought that was a clever name... i'm all about being low, so... it works! :-D

haha yeah, w/ this site & the fact u have a cobalt, be prepared to be addicted to modding! which i've always done this to my cars, the site just makes it more fun!! Yeah, my paint shadeshifts w/ blue & purple in the sun, i love it too! hahaha

well, lowering was free.........take my advice, if u want it lowered, buy springs... you wont be as low as me, but not every1 does it to be LOW like I do.......lol

and the rims were about $250 for all 4 on eBay w/ no lugs & nothing else... (shipping was like $130 i guess, i cant remember) then paid around $250 for tires on another site, then about $60 to have them balanced & stuff, so in all i paid around $690 or so... i guess, i could be wrong, that was back in April! i cant remember! hahaha
