Black residue=rich condition...good. When you floor it from time to time, you should notice a black small cloud in rear mirror...thats the carbon build up residue from normal driving being exhausted at WOT. It equals normal :)

Yep...our 06 LS has the same (black & liquid) which is normal affects of combustion (soot + condensation). If you drive a lot of short-trips...tends to be a little more vs. someone driving longer treks. My daughter drives 5-miles (one-way) to school so it's a normal thing.

The black water residue coming from the tail pipe is a combination of condensation and carbon. Its completely normal if its not in large quantities.

The inside of my tail pipe with 2500 miles on it is still shiny as if I haven't driven a mile. :)

Do you clean it during a car wash? It should have some carbon or your not burning enough fuel.
