I have a black 08 Cobalt and need to find out what type of wash mitt will not leave "surface" scratches.

I'm currently using an Armor All microfiber wash mitt, and I do wash/rinse the mitt everytime its used, but it seems that new scratches form with every wash. The scratches are fairly deep, I could not remove them even with a good coat of Mothers wax.

Any suggestions from other owners what I can use to stop any more scratches for froming?

Use something called Zip Wax by turtle wax. Its a big jug of soap(64 ounces) and its only like 5$. Auto zone didnt have it by me but auto barn did. I find it to be the best soap, it has a little bit of wax in the soap, so unlike almost all other car soaps, it wont eat off the wax you just put on your car. Its really the best you can use. As for swirl marks, that comes with owning a black car, its sucks i know, i have a black balt. But really the only thing you cvan do it keep up on you waxxing and wash it useing only a microfiber towel, stay clear of car washes at all costs.

Personally I use Liquid Ice. I use both the car wash soap and the liquid polish when I'm done. Even though the car is still relatively new, After I polish with the Ice, the paint looks just like a new car. Luckily I havent had a smirl marks or if I did, the Ice seems to get rid of them.

Just remember on a dark color NOT to use a circular motion when washing, the swirl marks are much more evident on a dark color.
Front to back, not round and round...

you can attempt to use a polish to remove the swirl marks, but make sure to wax well afterwards as the polish is going to leave the clearcoat unprotected. also when buying a polish, make sure its non abrasive and safe for clear coats. it should say right on the bottle somewhere.

i use pledge...... it was brought to my attention by someone and so i tried it on my mothers car first, then wow i was blown away, it puts a thick protectant of wax coating on the car and every time it rains it washes off the dirt, but with pledge on it doesnt let water marks show or stay on the car, slick as can be and by touch its as soft as you could poss. get a car its amazing, strongly advise you peeps try it. spray on after washing car wipe somewhat dry with cloth then terry cloth it to a shine.

I've never tried the plegde thing. For wax though, I use Meguire's 3 step waxing. Don't use the third bottle though. Instead, go with Meguire's Tech wax. When I'm done with it, it leaves the car looking as though it were wet. Very nice gloss. I could shave in the mirror finish it leaves.
