hey guys. A friend of mine has the 2.2 and he wants more power. I was wondering how much hp will the stock internals handle. also how much boost will it take if we decide to go with forced induction. thanks for any advice or help.
Well I guess I'll say it. You or your friend aren't ready for this step yet. There isn't a set hp number, psi number, or anything like that where an engine will magically explode if exceeded. It all depends on your set up, the components used, the state of tune, etc etc ect.
Get to reading, or you'll blow something up way before these mythical limits people post up.
I know its not a magic number. i'm just looking for an idea of how much power would still be safe for the engine. i also know running lean will make the engine blow. Thats what suportting mods and a piggyback is for. Trust me i'm not a noob to cars. Just specificly this car.
so me and a buddy are trying to build his 06 chevy cobalt ls we are looking into all options. we live in new york and im wondering if there is a way to swap the ecm from a 07 chevy cobalt ls to a 06 chevy cobalt ls and still get it to pass ny state inspection
I have a 07 cobalt Ls 2.2, I heard a read a lot of negative thing that people have to say about modifying those cars and say it’s pointless!. How and why would it be pointless for modifying a car you own and what to look, sound and perform outstanding and have something unique that you can say...
I am buying my first chevy cobalt. Its nothing special like the ss. Sadly its the LT for now.. i am wondering if i do a muffler delete or just straight pipe the exhaust if i will get a really nice sound as well as some crackles (pops, backfire) without it sounding stupid. And yes i know backfires...
Thinking about purchasing an LSD and f35 transmission. I plan on upgrading from my current f23 transmission I got from a junkyard. Any suggestions on LSD's as far as brands go? I just looked at a site called Traction Concepts, any good?
