CC08 it is not a vaccuum leak...the item you pointed to is the emissions canister evap valve (goes back to the black box between the rear wheels)...I doubt that is your problem.

Trying to diagnose your problem over the internet is akin to pulling your teeth throught the internet! Best advice I can give you at this point is get a code reader and check for DTC codes.

Any friends with one? Did you see a CEL -- and did something pop up in the DIC? Try just running the engine for a short bit (no revving unless you have to to keep it running)...then watch for a CEL and info in the DIC. Watch your water temp too.

Water temp gauge never worked ironically. The dic coolant when to normal temp. A CEL did pop up at one point, but then I unhooked the battery to see if it would do anything but nope. I don't have any friends with a reader. And I have to rev to keep the engine alive.

There are 2 vacuum lines on the 2.4...the brake booster (check the entire hose from the front of the manifold to the brake booster) and the Canister Evap valve (make sure it is sealing on each end -- it is hard plastic so look for cracks). Another possibility is the MAF (make sure it is seated properly -- located just behind the TB).

What else was touched or moved when working your temp gauge?

If you saw a CEL you probably have a DTC stored...that is what we need to know to help from far away! Did you drive the car after the temp sending unit repositioning? If not and this problem came about after the repositioning concentrate in the areas you were in -- look for loose wires...

The MAF should be fine but wheres the other 2 things? This doesn't make any sense because when i turned the car on to see if the gauge was working it wasnt. I left it running to get to normal temp and nothing. The gauge wasn't working for whatever reason I don't know. I turned the car off, went to pepboys got some more gm dextron coolant came back filled the tank to the line, started it and then had that problem. So WTF!!! It doesn't make sense!!!!!

I drove the car up the block (since I had to pull into the garage anyway) as it was doing this and the engine was still lugging like and I only went up to second gear and never kept low RPMs and it still was lugging. When this problem first started the ENTIRE engine was VIOLENTLY shaking. I don't have a code reader or have money for one... I checked all possible wires I could and everything is connected fine. Theres just this one spot with exposed wires the dealer was ****ing with and theres like no room to see if that's the cause.

Did the CEL pop up when driving to Pepboys or when the problem started? Considering you drove the car and it was fine and then the problem cropped up later it makes it harder to believe a vacuum leak is the cause. I wish I could help more...next accessory you buy needs to be a code reader with an erase function!!!

The brake booster hose starts in front of the Throttle body -- look on the manifold just below the TB and follow the hose back to the booster. There is a plastic adapter in the center of that hose so check to see if it got damaged. The evap cannister purge valve is the "thing"" you are pointing to in the video -- check that plastic tube for cracks.
