Went to move my new Cobalt today (2008 LT) only to find it won't start. Made some odd clicking noises, door locks went a bit crazy, and it reads "SERVICE TRACTION" and then "TRACTION OFF".

Any clue what this could be? A Google search suggested a blown fuse, which might make sense given my front speakers/turn signals are pretty unpredictable.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, car is bone stock and completely untouched since I just bought it a couple weeks ago. 65k miles and still under dealership warranty, but they're over an hour away.

Check your battery connection. Driver's door speaker is where your blinker sound and chime come from. These speakers have a high tendency to go bad, not related to your no start. When is the last time you used your car?

Call and ask if warranty covers tow...

I've heard that about the speakers; thought maybe both problems were fuse related. I last drove it a couple days ago; I was sick so it's been sitting. I'll do that, thanks!

I'm pretty certain the speaker is not fuse related. My driver door speaker, before I replaced it, would work sometimes, generally in the cold, and then other times it just didn't make noise. It's just a crappy paper cone speaker from china I'm sure. As for the no start, my $.02 would be to look at the fuse diagram in the manual and check the related to start and perhaps traction control fuses. And if that doesn't work, use that warranty! haha
