Well I had a misfortunate accident right when my insurance lapsed. Was about to switch. Anyhow, progressive will not cover the accident and i am forced to fix the car.

I owe 3k on the car still; and am wondering what my best options are:

should i try and fix it myself?
possibly sell it as is
or sell to a junk yard?

Im not a mechanic by any means but can prob do some basic repairs if theyre easy.

so far i know, im going to need a new hood, new headlights/brackets, new bumper, new radiator

the front bumper frame bent a lil so it looks like its mounted on by 6 11mm lugnuts; so a new one of that

also the radiator bent in and now the fan pushes up to the block

Here's and imgur gallery;
im on my girlfriends mac and for some reason it wouldnt let me optimize the iphone photos to upload to yourcobalt

thank you

part out the car if you have the time, you'll be able to get the most out of it.
What year and model?
If you post that on here, I'm sure A LOT of people will jump on that. Lots of parts.

Looks repairable, will probably need a good pull to make sure sub frame is straight.

It is a 2008 Chevy Cobalt LT
it drove home just fine; although the radiator drained on the accident but i only had to go 2 blocks
Everything is stock; 2.2L Engine

no actually; Amarillo, TX
about 4.5 hours from OKC and ABQ Either direction on i40

And ill be willing to fix myself and buy parts over time
was going to start with radiator
then grab some headlights and some mounting buckets

then it will be fully operational

then grab a cheaper aftermarket bumper

Time isnt a problem
Money is right now;
I was swapped over to part time at work; and my girlfriend no longer works
(We're expecting a son soon) and are preparing for the arrival

my friend got hit way lighter than that and insurance wrote off his first g5 with only 800km on it. Do what coby said and take it to a body shop to make sure the frame is straight.
