well i got a stock pioneer sub ant put it in my car with a 240 w amp that i got from a friend. if you turn the gain all the way down, i suppose it could work but thats still alot of power into that stock sub

 

I'm running the stock sub off of my 400 watt amp.
I'm going to upgrade the sub when it blows because I bought it just for the sub box.
So being able to use the stock sub I just don't need to buy a new one yet.

do you mean on the amp itself or the stereo? if i turn the amp down almost all the way but the stereo all the way up, will it still blow the sub?

 

the gain is how much power the amp is creating, almost like a secondary volume control for the sub

 

where is the stock amp located??

 

The stock amp is located above the little "hidden" compartment on the left side of the steering wheel. You have to pop that door off and dig way up in there to get it.

That is right.
Does anyone know the specs on the stock sub?
I had mine out and there is nothing on the back of the speaker.
I just know that it's 2 2ohm coils.
