Loss of communication to the tcm

05 Chevy Cobalt.

power steering went out about a year ago. Got code u0101. Replaced battery and everything seemed fine for a while. Again same thing happened with power steering going out. I saw that a bunch of people were wiring the tcm to the chassi for a better ground connection. Tried that. Power steering continues to go out intermittently and there is a loss of driving power and now a clicking sound on the right side dash when starting the car, think it could be an actuator(could be unrelated) but are there any suggestions for fixing the power steering failure? Is this a problem with a connection, grounding issue, ebcm, pcm? I’m at a loss. It seems odd that putting a new battery in would fix the issue for some time…

There are a bunch of grounds on the grounding post next to the transmission, you are better off replacing/fixing them all because once one goes, they all tend to have issues. Simply grounding the TCM to the chassis will only take care of one of grounds, as the entire post gets corroded, fix them all to see if the issues resolve.
